CITY & GUILDS - 2394/2395 - Inspection and Testing - Combined Course
These courses cater for those people working in the electrical industry and have good technical skills and some degree of knowledge and experience of testing and inspecting electrical installations. Therefore, they are ideal for those who wish to further develop their knowledge and practical skills or gain/update the formal qualifications that are recognised and sought after within the industry.
***City and Guilds 2394 Level 3 Award in the Initial Verification and Certification of Electrical Installations***
These courses are designed to help improve your understanding of the legal requirements, the theoretical and practical principles for the initial verification and certification of an electrical installation. The key aspects of these awards include:
*When an initial verification of the electrical installation is required
*Safe isolation of the circuits and installation
*Procedure for the visual inspection
*The correct selection and use of the instruments for testing
*Procedure for 'dead' testing
*Procedure for 'live' testing
*Correct analysis and interpretation of the results
*Correct completion of certification and documentation
*Fault finding
***City and Guilds 2395 Level 3 Award in the Periodic Inspection, Testing and Certification of Electrical Installations***
This award has been designed to help improve your understanding of the legal requirements, the theoretical and practical principles for the periodic inspect and testing and certification of an electrical installation. The key aspects of these awards include:
*When a periodic inspection and test of the electrical installation is required
*What is required for a periodic inspection and testing
*Safe isolation of the circuits and installation
*Procedure for the visual inspection
*The correct selection and use of the instruments for testing
*Procedure for 'dead' testing
*Procedure for 'live' testing
*Correct analysis and interpretation of the results
*Correct completion of the electrical installation condition report and documentation
*Fault finding
During these sessions you will cover the above aspects as well as the statutory and non-statutory requirements, the health and safety requirements, the theoretical principles and practical elements of the inspection and testing and the completion of all the necessary documentation.
We will also be preparing you for the examinations for each course. For each of the City and Guilds courses, you will be required to complete 3 separate assessments to gain the qualification, the assessments are as follows:
*3 hour practical assessment including fault finding
*Online multiple choice exam
*A 2-hour written exam
The course will run over a full week Monday to Friday with exams on arranged for 9th August 2016, this allows time for revision over the weekend.
Evening courses will run each Tuesday evening 6pm-9pm for 8 weeks.
Written exams will run on a Tuesday evening 6.30pm - 8.30pm – this exam is set by City and Guilds and cannot be moved. There is also an extra half-day session for the practical assessment that will be arranged between student and lecturer.
This qualification is recognised by Stroma, NICEIC and Napit for registration.
